SEO or smart online brand marketing? Future of SEO

SEO has changed a lot for the past two years, however back in 2001 whilst I first started to market textile companies’ websites as part time I have seen search engine’s giving importance to those which actually submit good content, so if you are thinking seo was easy back in those days, I have to disagree with you

However optimising websites for search engines back then has been a lot easier which is not the case now – But again back then there were hardly any great tools such as backlinks quality, content and even seo analysis

Google has made it a lot easier to track your success rate and there are number of other tools which are helping individuals and even the blue chip companies get to know where they stand when it comes to sales, rankings, traffic and even ROI increase

Now SEO has became smart online marketing, you do it well, you get out of it, you abuse search engines, they will abuse you back much harder, so it is time to get in to smart online marketing, many seo companies are out of the picture now, after Google’s continues search engine algorithms updates, many got dumped by their customers that had lost their rankings and even were penalized completely or a small penalty

The future of SEO is smart online marketing mix, include the digital media, social media and search engine marketing, follow the road signs, see what the top 20 people are doing, make notes when it comes to backlinks, domain age, see where the website is hosted, write down the websites they are getting the links from, votes, Google reviews, note down the number of backlinks and then analyse your website against your competitors, the old seo has changed in to smart brand marketing!

You agree or not! But that is the future of seo

Think, act and play smart!

Social Media Buzz – Future of smart seo, internet marketing and Google Rankings!

Enough with the backlinks abuse, swapping, reciprocal, blog commenting, poorly written articles and press releases, forums and blog media links, documents sharing, fake Google reviews and so on.

If you are next time searching something and you do not see a website that was ranking a few hours ago on #1 and cannot be seen on the first page, then it is definitely not a Google update

Google has introduced backlinks in order to count a page authority a long time ago, the more quality websites link to you are the number of votes your website gets, which help your website raise its rank, website traffic and possibly more sales, ROI and profits increase

However years after years we have seen websites ranking which were doing the good work and publishing useful content in order to earn backlinks:

What is a good link?

A good link has several aspects, a high page rank website with quality content, domain with age history, good link building profile, good traffic as well as dmoz presence – However a .edu and .gov link carry more value or a link from a high traffic blog or a review which was written by another blogger because they have just liked your website and/or blog

How do you earn backlinks?

If you are looking forward to earn good backlinks and win Google and other search engine’s trust in your backlinks profile, then you need to work on your website graphics, its development and especially on your website content and what it has to offer, ever wondered why Wikipedia ranks for every search term (well most search terms), because they answer the questions you ask from search engines, authentic information within you research via a single click – If you want to earn quality backlinks then you have to provide your website visitors with quality and reliable information and if you do so, you may attract loads of quality backlinks via blogging, social media etcetera – It is worth more to spend your money by hiring a professional and intelligent seo copywriter than asking someone else to build backlinks – A good blogger that has a high traffic blog can do the good job too or someone with passion for writing – A short note on how you can win backlinks is to engage your customers and provide them with all the information they are after

Do backlinks still count?

Yes, they do and will for a long time

How I can build backlinks on my own?

If you wish to build backlinks on your own, the best thing to do is to have to have a blog on your website and write useful information about your products or services, provide customers with more information with why your product or service differ or write how to articles, think like a customer and think about what searchers are finding (doing keyword research prior to writing your blog post can be very useful), go for long tail search terms for a start and write your blog in order to help your visitors not to rank – There are several other ways to build quality backlinks as we discussed earlier, however a good social media strategy can always help you win much more backlinks and it is so easy that anyone can do it with basic knowledge

Do backlinks have impact on search engine rankings?

Yes, they do! If you get quality backlinks(s), it is counted as a vote and it has a direct impact on your search engine rankings, however you cannot rank on a competitive keyword with just a single link (in some cases you can), when Google or other search engines print search against your search term, their automated system crawls the entire data in their range and then short-list websites with good votes, content and number of backlinks (you are exactly in competition with those which are ranking higher than yours, so you have to exactly know how many votes or backlinks they have for that “search term” and then you have to increase the number of votes/backlinks in order to raise your rank higher than your competitors

How I can find if my backlinks are of quality?

Very good question – You can always analyze your backlinks, SEOMoz, Aherf and there are several other link analysis tools including Google webmaster tools where you can check a website, blog, directory or the site you want to get the link from prior to linking – You can also analyse your website backlinks and get any suspicious backlinks removed using (Google disavow backlinks removal tool) – This helps you remove any bad websites that are linking to your website and are giving your backlinks profile a suspicious profile

After Google’s January 2016 and February update – I can clearly see what the future holds for seo.

I have short-listed 20 top ranked websites for a specific search term – and then have written down the values for good backlinks, quality content, web page graphics, development and all other seo and backlinks and voting aspects and what I have found was just “amazing” and I want to pass this on to you guys so you know what you need to do in order to do it earlier than your competitors

I have seen websites rankings being increased and decreased in real time and that too on daily basis, then I have short listed those websites which moved from page 2 to page one and then from page one to top of the page, which was just amazing to see, I was so curious to know about the votes and backlinks that I have gone a mile ahead to find out what was going on – and what I have found was simple yet attractive, want to know what was helping websites ranking on Google, Yahoo, Bing, Miva and even Baidu and Yandex search engines?

Social Signals, votes and reviews:

Social signals, votes and reviews are the future, which give your brand a boost.

Do not just go for my words?

I am not just saying it or just assuming like everyone else, I did below to find how it affects one of our customer’s website which is brand new, been built some months ago, we customized a wordpress blog and started with 4 blog posts a month, I have told my writer to completely forget about search engines and come up with amazing posts which are written for people, humans which are finding the products which our customer is selling – We have published 4 blog posts in that first month i.e. January 2016 – These articles included below

1. Unique description of the product, why buy, features, how their products differ

2. The price and the warrantees and guarantees

3. After sale service

4. Reviews (from the existing customers which were using their products)

A month after this brandnew website have been ranking on page first, we have seen this website appearing on page 9 on google.co.uk and then the next post has made it appear on page 6, we have attract over 1000 +1s, over 4000 likes and over 500 retweets and over 93 Pins

That was it, we only had 30 backlinks and it was really hard to rank for that search term in matter of just few weeks, tell you honestly, we have targeted long tail keywords and ranked this “competitive keyword” or in other words I am saying, we have used few variants for that keyword to rank the main keyword :)

In my personal opinion, social signals have started to help rank website in a different way and that too in a real time, now you can see websites rank in a day, if social buzz is there for a specific product or service or if there are loads of +1s, hundreds and thousands of retweets or thousands of likes and pins

So what you should do?

Do you have a social media strategy in place at all?

If not, build your social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook and Google+ and so on. Having these branding pages is just not enough; you have to ensure you have a beautiful page where people would like to link too, follow, like, retweets and then you have to work on your social media marketing strategy in order to publish useful information, news, rumors even, product features, comparisons, how to tutorials, audios, videos, images, in order to attract world’s attention towards you

I cannot do it because I am so busy?

Well, if you cannot do it, then there are thousands of social media marketing experts which can do a good job, most social media agencies charge you on hourly basis and the wage for a social media marketing expert start from £10 onward – depending on their experience, expertise, and knowledge of social media and how to build buzz online

What is the impact of social media on my business?

Social media platform gives you the same opportunity as the display adverts, banner ads, plus more than what you can get from banner or text ads as your words, buzz or your comments and posts can be seen by millions and that too for free – So you are actually targeting zillions people around the world for free

Why I think .edu and .gov links carry less value than a loud good social buzz?

We built .edu link for the same brand I was talking about above and have seen its performance and the impact on search engine rankings, traffic, number of sales made out of it and the ROI, honestly speaking it has increased the rank of that “keyword from #49 to #41 which is great for a new .edu do follow website (link from .edu blog), then I linked our website from a “do follow .gov website” and there was nearly the same kind of impact, but the post which has been submitted to Google+ and twitter and Facebook has had much loud buzz and it has moved the rank from #49 to #7

In my own opinion, Google has started to measure the buzz and author’s buzz which is impacting your search engine rankings and that too really quick, say your post has picked a buzz an hour before, an hour later your website was seen ranking on a completely great positions

In order to prove this, we picked 20 websites and measured their success was being backed by social media presence and the buzz there

If your website is still not ranking on Google’s first page, then you need to build a good social media strategy being backed by good content and good valued backlinks, that is your way to smart seo and digital marketing

I have lost my website Google rankings in January 2016, what should I do?

I have received this email from someone based in Australia

I have lost my rankings and I have not done anything? I have very good quality backlinks which I personally built over the last 5 years, the content on my website and blog publishes useful “how to articles” – Even I am listed in Dmoz, Yahoo, Alexa and other reputed web directories, have a good domain name that is 12 years old, page rank is 8 at the moment, but I can see our keywords “discount toys”, “toys” “buy toys online” and several other keywords variations which were ranking on 1st page on google.com.au have dropped to 280 and higher what should I do?

Answer:  Until you submit your website URL, we are really hard to advice what should be done at this very point of time, but as you are aware  of Google update in December 2015, then in January 2016 and now in 12th February 2016, you might like to wait and watch at the moment and see what happens or whether or not your website returns – as you said you have a good backlinks profile, chances are your website might return but we have to look at the consequences to provide you more information that what needs to be done

We are very popular on twitter, does this count at all, we have over 10,00,000 followers, thousands retweets and so on, massive traffic and good trust over social platforms including Google+, Facebook likes and loads of +1s which are all natural and unique, then why I am hurt?

Answer: Well, these social segments do really count but again, you have to provide us with your usernames for Twitter, Facebook and Google+ and find out the real cause to what happened as you stated above

Should I submit website reconsideration request to Google through webmaster tools? I have not received any messages or critical issues, but do you suggest if I should submit this request? I can also see the rankings for our search queries have fallen to 300 or higher and I am so confused

Answer:  No. You should not do it, until unless have personally contacted you or if you have received a message saying, we have found issues with your website, then it makes sense to make a contact with Google or submit a request but what we suggest you is to wait and watch

Should I remove any links, which I have not built but are linking to my website, such as, some people which like our web posts and host them on their blogs?

Answer:  We definitely do not suggest that, as your content was news and buzz worthy to earn links, plus it is a vote that your content was useful enough to be found and hosted, so I would not suggest that at all, until unless you email us with all those links and so we can find out, if they are not coming from bad neighbourhood

I have never done directory submission, article or press release submission or any other type of stupid submissions then why Google has dropped the rankings of our good website?

Answer: As I said, we can only assume at the moment as we do not have the URL of your website, there are number of link analyzer tools, SEOMoz, Aherf, and so on, find out what links are more useful and what are not, if you find links which you think are suspicious, and work on them

You may also send us an email with all those links, URL(s), the keywords that lost their rankings and any other concerns and we will be happy to provide you free seo consulting and analyse and let you know why you have lost your website rankings on Google in January/February 2016

Is Google Broke? Google’s February 2016 Search Algorithms Update

It’s been very crazy new year so far when it comes to Google search and the way Google is responding to most search queries, I am of an opinion that Google’s been broke, I can very clearly see Google’s returning erroneous search results to most queries and weird websites ranking on the entire Google’s first page and even the same URL taking half of the space on next page

As in my previous post I have shared my opinion with all my readers and was the first one in the UK to report Google’s search update in the very beginning of January, I am seeing a very crazy response to my search queries, okay I can be wrong but I am not wrong

“Discount furniture” was returning search results from website directories and hardly showing a website link on google.co.in, on Google UK, Google have been returning weird results for “SEO UK” and that too of websites that are abusing the wiki and whose website backlinks are all “no follow”

The website which have been ranking for most “seo related queries” is a brand new domain, getting all its links from duplicate press release URLs, weird wiki links and abusing several other sites on the internet with weird content published on each resource

The whole world is saying, It is a Google update, I know Google is making number of changes in their Algorithms, I know and I remained the first person on the internet that has reported this Google January 2016 update, and even the February 2016 Search update by Google

I have a very strong opinion that during the Google algorithm changes were being made, they have suffered a worth amount of technical difficulties and were hard to correct things until now, but I can be wrong too, I will like to think Google’s been broke from end December 27th of December 2015 and they are doing everything to make things work “Problems happen everywhere” I will also like to think, Google wanted to push an update by 1st January 2016

There is a lot we can talk about at the moment and make guesses, the situation is not very much clear especially on Google UK, weird activity have been seen on google.com.au and google.co.in, however google.com (Google America) seems to be all fine as well as most other Google domains

In my own opinion, Google is more localising their search which they always planned and give reward to those which have responsive websites, a trustworthy backlinks profile in place, great seo copy written for website visitors as well as great social media marketing profile and buzz there and relevance are the utmost factors of Google search in 2016

If you are seriously looking forward to rank your business on Google and want to establish long lasting search engine rankings, then you need to work on the old theory, good link building profile, local trust (local business establishment), positive reviews, good products and pricing as well as responsive websites and newsworthy content

Google would not penalise you until unless they have a strong reason to believe that you are manipulating their search results by establishing a good link building profile by using the tricks Google do not allow, be straightforward, do good work and you are safe!

Hire a good SEO Company if you are too busy doing other stuff you specialise at and leave your content creation, seo and backlinks profile and social media to the experts that can do better and with ethics and guidelines in mind

I will write again when I have more to share, hopefully soon, let’s all hope, this Google update only hurts which deserve a penalty and not those which have always done a good seo job

SEO Companies in UK and their contribution in local businesses success

This Christmas and New Year have been very quiet for businesses in the UK, however there are some great seo companies which are helping businesses grow and get them found when your potential customers are finding you on the web and search engines

Looking at the contribution made by SEO Companies, a recent survey shows that Sainsburys, Tesco, Iceland and even Lidl, Premier Inn, Nandos and other massive UK based companies are highly investing on SEO than just display adverts

Whereas looking at the total investments made by small businesses on seo are fairly nothing, it is understandable that they are hard to compete with companies like Lidl, Tesco and Iceland but competing in their local market and local area is fairly much cheaper than most businesses think

SEO is not a very costly venture if you are doing it properly and there are chances your business will be picked up if you are doing an ethical search engine optimisation or optimising your website with latest web and search engines trends in mind

I am told that some search engine optimisation companies in UK are quoting prices that are unbelievable but there are number of some great seo folks out there that charge a reasonable price in order to give your business an online identity and build brand awareness that your business deserves

The best thing you can do is to contact quite a few companies and ask for realistic price quote and what they can do, ask for the website health check, their review on your current link building profile, competitor analysis, and what they can do in the specific budget you have, ask them to email you with what they can do, deliverables from their and your end and see where it leads

Do not rush to hire a SEO Company, there are some guys out there, which take on every project in order to improve their cash flow but end up taking you no where! Be very careful when choosing your seo guys and even the seo chicks!

If you are looking for a seo consultant that is happy to tell you what needs to be done and gives you a realistic idea on what they can achieve, simply get in touch by calling on for free analysis of your website and competitors

Over all,  SEO Companies have contributed a lot in Britain’s economy but there is a lot more we guys can do to help our dear customers – So when quoting your customers, make sure you are small on prices and big on techniques, customer care and ethics!

Good Luck and have a great Sunday!

Potential Cardiff seo and web design market

There are a very few web design and seo companies in Cardiff, an old friend has started a web design and online marketing business in the heart of Cardiff some 3 years ago and I can see how good they are doing in the Cardiff and entire Wales market

Since the competition has been really low it has helped them save a lot on over-all marketing costs and as they are one of the best search engine optimisation and marketing company in Wales that provide customers with bespoke services on affordable price, this has helped them get loads of business from word of mouth

You can read my previous article on how to get a good customer review and a positive vote (Google review) when it comes to providing your customers with a bespoke customer service

On the other hand, I have had a chance to look in to the market over this weekend – I have personally travelled to Cardiff / Wales several times and I know the potential that lies ahead for web design and development agencies in there

For example, the friend I am talking about works with several Government organisations and top level firms based in UK and Europe including Prince’s trust, which is simply great looking at the company size (5 employees in total) and they have over 50 new clients every month which is simply great, is not it?

There is a great potential in Welsh market for a creative digital and social media marketing and web design in Cardiff and in my opinions locals from Cardiff / Wales should think of going ahead and doing their research on what they can do when it comes to establishing a business for their local and foreign customers

One thing which I like the most about Welsh companies and customers in general, if they are sold and you provide them good service at great prices; they are your customers for life! So never break your customer’s trust and always try your level best to provide them the best service you can!

Must Read, Impressive Quote about Success

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” – Bill Cosby

I can do it!

                                            I can do it!

I must admit that this is one of the sweetest quote I have read in a long time and this quote is for everyone, be it people that are doing jobs, running businesses or awaiting to get employed and even the ones that are struggling and planning to take their careers to the very next level

No matter what you do in life, you have to struggle at some stage, difficulties are always there, but they are to shape your life, you are the man if you learn from the mistakes you and others have made and carry on

The same goes to the people that have been stuffing keywords in their websites to rank higher on search engines, unethical seo practices and aggressive and paid link building

It is never too late, I understand many people are affected by the most recent Google January 2016 update, but let’s start to follow this quote and move on and we will see a great impact on our lives

This quote also is equally helpful for those which are engaging in any businesses or planning to do something new and different in life, be it very small or big, people that have thirst and passion to win always do win in lives – You just have to make your mind and make difference what you are here for!

Common Web Development Mistakes are Costing Companies Revenue

Many businesses over the last few years have taken to the web in the hopes of capturing new markets and not getting left behind as society is depending more and more on all things digital.

But simply having a website is no longer enough to secure customers online, as many businesses are finding they their website is falling victim to more efficient and appealing web designs which are better search engine optimised and more user friendly.

The most common mistake people are making is having a far too complicated website design. With more and more people of all ages and technology knowledge levels joining the masses online

And with attention spans more than halved when it comes to online activities, websites need to be simpler and easier to navigate to prevent them losing customer to better prepared competitors.

Another common complaint among internet users is compatibility. With mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets being a part of everyday life for many people in the age of digital.

It begs the question why so many websites are still using non-compatible web designs. Many business owners think the website they created years ago will stand up in today’s changing market

But the reality is websites need to be updated and adapted regularly to the advancement of technology and the evolution of the markets to ensure they continue to be a useful strategy for the company.

Many companies believe that having their website look and function in exactly the same way as their successful competitors is the key to retaining old and attracting new customers.

But the reality is that, although looking into what works well for your competitors is a good way to research your market’s needs, your website needs to be unique in its own right if you want to attract attention of new potential customers.

Ask your web developers to take a look at your competitor’s website and highlight what you like about it, and then allow them to create a design unique to your brand’s own message and personality while incorporating the aspects that worked well.

A fatal mistake make by businesses is assuming that once a website is made then people will come to it without any prompt.

There are billions of websites out there and search engines return results of thousands if not millions of website links for searches, so don’t just assume that people will find yours.

Talk to your web development company about how search engine optimised your website is, and what can be done to make it more SEO friendly. This will help your website to be found, if used in conjunction with other internet marketing tactics.

Let’s all keep the European seo and web design business in Europe

There are number of search engine optimisation companies in Europe and nearly 80% of those companies get most of their seo work done by companies based in Asia, Middle and Far east and Africa, however looking at the service quality offered by most seo companies in India, Pakistan or the entire Asian, Far and Middle eastern region and even Africa is not what we call “European quality standards”

If you have/had a chance to work with a web design or seo firm from Asian countries, especially India, China and even Philippines you must have suffered (most people) with the time waste on explaining things that we normally do not repeat or explain in the UK and Europe

Call it a language barrier or their understanding to your state of mind or what you are looking for, working with these IT Companies in Asia is not a very daunting task in most cases and many European SEO and web design companies have started to hire freelancers from their respective countries in order to have to have a cheap yet professional solution

However there are much cheaper seo and web design and development solutions in UK and Europe as well but most of these UK and European companies are not aware of those companies which are based in the UK and Europe and provide much cheaper seo and web design solutions, link building etc, than the freelancer you can hire from your respective country

We work with many SEO Companies from UK and Europe and provide them with complete seo and web design outsourcing solutions including the multilingual content writing, multilingual link building and even web design and development with impressive reporting, invoicing as well as support system in place

Is not it great? That you are paying nearly Asian prices to get your work done by a European web design and SEO Company?

Let’s keep European business in our European zone – If you are looking for a web design and web development company or seo service with European quality standards in mind, simply get in touch today and find the difference yourself, the prices are nearly the same what you pay in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and even China and Philippines but what you get is much more than you get from there including the different time zone, language barriers and explaining the same things over and over again (Most companies even do not issue invoices, have hardly any sales and support systems in place).

Let’s join hands and let’s keep the European work in Europe
